On green grass against the blue sky, our School cultivates each student the desire to excel in all fields.
The children in our campus have the ability to search for new knowledge by way of science and technology.
They also develop a global perspective, the profound feeling toward their homeland, and even a heart to strive forthe best.
The two red characters of the Zhong-Yi in this logo stand for not only an utter innocence, but also a balance between reason and emotion.
School history
The broadening of the Shizitou pass during the 1960s destroyed two long slopes, called “Xiang Xing”(means “the nose of an elephant”) and “Shi Tou Xing”(means “the head of a lion”), which served as a protection against flooding. Since they no longer existed, continuously flooding happened. Therefore, Erchong Floodway was constructed. However, Zhouhou village which was originally settled down in this floodway could not help but move to Huiyao replanning district in Luzhou City. The center of villagers’ religion, Chung-yi Temple, was also moved to a place on Changan Street. With the prosperous development in Luzhou City over the past years, many people here called for establishment of the fifth elementary school. After animated discussions by preparatory personnel and the local gentry, the Taipei County government authorized its name as “Zhong-yi Elementary School” in December of 1998. The school was officially set up in August, 1999 and Mr. Shu-ji Liu was its first principal. The first-period establishment engineering of the school started in June of 2000. This school first opened its door to the public and recruited students in August of 2002. The second principal was Mr. Jhong, Ming-shen ( from August 1st, 2006 to July 31st, 2014). Mr. Shu-ji Liu was re-appointed as the third principal in August 2014.
